A summer must-have to every gentleman has to be the denim jacket. Yes, you read it right! The denim jacket made its way back to the fashion scene last summer in different washes and sizes. But living in Cebu during the “ber” months means that summer is officially over. Does that mean you also have to put away your favorite denim jacket? Of course not!
Always bear in mind that the denim jacket is a fashion friend and it isn’t just a fashion trend. The best thing about the jean jacket is that it can be worn all year round. It can be paired with almost anything in your closet too. You can dress it up or dress it down. And the more you wear it, the more it becomes more comfortable. I am sporting the oversized or baggy denim jacket I bought in a thrift shop in Cebu. This type is great when you are going for a more casual look. Most men prefer the fitted jean jacket ( Stay tuned because that’s going to be a different post. ) but I say it won’t hurt to think out of the box. Going the “baggy” route can be a fashion statement. If you are keen to watching fashion runways, the growing trend in menswear is going oversize. One style tip is teaming up your baggy denim jacket with a tailored fit dress pants worn simply over a basic white T-shirt. And if you want to add more character to your jacket, colorful patches will do the trick. I also intentionally distressed the collar of the jacket to give it a more casual look.

1. If you want to be safe, a well fitted denim jacket in dark colors is perfect for a smarter look. You can go basic with this one. A simple shirt or polo with a pair of tailored pants or skinnies will definitely increase your fashion game. 2. Denim on denim works perfectly if you wear two to three different washes. It’s best to break up the denim with other solid colors too.
3. When you go for the baggy route, as with this post, confidence is key. A major style tip is to go fitted with your bottom to highlight the size of your denim jacket.
