THE 70's REVIVAL

BEST-CEBU-FASHION-BLOGGERS-ALMOSTABLOGGER-CIRCA.jpg

Hey Guys! We are already half way this very fashionable year but it seems like 2016’s top trend the seventies is here to stay. The trick to pulling off this style is to wear pieces that are inspired by that fashion era. Remember, it has to be “inspired”! Unlike women, for menswear, stay away from the bell bottoms. But if you are the experimental type, why not.

EASY THRIFTS - MY PHP88 WATCH IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN MY POLO AND PANTS COMBINED

Even before I became a personal style and fashion blogger, for those people who know me personally, they would tell you that I am an expert in Ukay-ukay. Well, who wouldn’t be when you grew up going to Carbon to thrift shop with your mother, right? I can still vividly remember when I would still go to the ukay-ukay with only Php100 in my pocket. I would save up money from my baon in school so I can go thrift shopping. Anyway, fast forward to present - now my mother scolds me for buying so much stuff in the ukay-ukay. Hahaha Mom, you should blame yourself for introducing me to ukay-ukay.

BOHOL'S LITTLE NEW ZEALAND

CEBU-TRAVEL-BLOG-ALMOSTABLOGGER-BOHOL.jpg

More than the white beaches in Panglao Island, the shy but equally lovable tarsiers, the spine tingling adventure rides in Danao, the tourist friendly island hopping in Tubigon, and the historical visit to century old churches, Bohol has hidden treasures that are still waiting to be discovered by the traveloving you. Luckily, I had the opportunity to explore more of Bohol last summer.

THE HEALING HILLS OF UBAY, BOHOL

"I have just found out that my partner cheated on me. A week after the break up, there were still times when I couldn’t help myself but to break into tears. I wanted to get away. I was feeling suffocated and helpless. I wanted a change of scenery. And I wanted to forget about my life in the city even for just a day. I got so beaten down that the only way that could keep me sane that time was to travel."

I ABANDON FRIENDS WHEN I AM IN LOVE

Most of us make a mistake in abandoning our friends when we are in a relationship. Would you agree?

THE HARDEST BREAK UP I HAD TO MAKE

top-cebu-mens-fashion-blogger-almostablogger.jpg

NO BREAK UP IS EASY. Whether it be with a lover or a friend. It’s more than the sleepless nights, the lack of appetite, the tears in your pillow, the hugot playlists, and the “don’t- disturb-me” sign on your door. Because one can never be prepared to break up with someone you adored, treasured and loved. Breaking up with friends isn’t the easiest commitment to make. But oddly enough, when you grow much older you tend to make your circle small. You choose the people you invite into your life - whether they are good or bad for you. In doing so, you should remember that you have the power to choose who you let go and who you choose to stay.

CAKECHELLA AT 10 DOVE STREET SM SEASIDE CEBU

I HAVE JUST ATTENDED COACHELLA! WELL, I ALMOST DID! HAHAHA
But please can I call myself a coachellite now? A Coachellite is someone who attends to Coachella. Okay, I won’t pretend to be such but I can definitely say, with confidence and integrity, I AM A CAKECHELLITE! Hahaha you must be really confused now! Well, on my defense, 10 Dove Street at SM Seaside opened with a Coachella Festival inspired event they called “CAKECHELLA”. And since I was there to cake party, I am a certified Cakechellite. :)

A LIFE LESSON LEARNED IN LANDERS

CEBU-MENS-FASHION-BLOGGER-ALMOSTABLOGGER-LANDERS.jpg

Forrest Gump said “My mom always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” But one wise lady once told me that “Life is like a supermarket. You are given a lot of choices. It’s up to you to choose what’s good for you.” In this case, it’s a Superstore. Landers Superstore has finally opened its doors to the Queen City of the South, Cebu. When I attended the VIP Preview last May 7, 2017, I can’t help but be reminded by what the wise lady shared. What did she really mean by those simple yet meaningful words?

TYPES OF BLOGGERS YOU WILL MEET - THE GOOD AND THE BAD (PART TWO)

types-best-cebu-mens-fashion-blogger-almostablogger.jpg

HEY GUYS! Well I have received a lot of messages about part one of this post. And surprisingly, I haven’t received any hate mail, yet!  Hehehe Some of my blogger friends in Cebu shared a thing or two about their observations as well. Since this might be the last part of this insider report, hahaha, this is going to be UNCENSORED! NO HOLDS BARRED!

TYPES OF BLOGGERS YOU WILL MEET : THE GOOD AND THE BAD (PART ONE)

best-cebu-bloggers-almostablogger.jpg

This is a two part special of a project that I have been working on for the past few days. I may lose friends because of this post but this is what blogging is all about. I have only been active to blogging for a year now and in that span of time, I think I have fairly observed the different types of people in the world of blogging - the GOOD and the BAD! So here is part one,

DAYDREAMING IN COSTABELLA TROPICAL BEACH HOTEL

cebu-mens-fashion-blogger-almostablogger-costabella.jpg

I was first on the bus to Costabella Tropical Beach Hotel. The organizers were already asking who “the man who can’t be named” was. It took me a while to realize that my crush was going with us. I instantly had butterflies in my stomach. I thought what a bad time for him to see me very dark. ( like I’m already dark-skinned in the first place, but I was baked from my recent trip to Boracay!) But what else can I do? Anyway, while I was talking to my friend, a familiar face entered the bus. And there he was, with his beautiful eyes and charming smile. My crush has arrived. I fixed myself and asked my friend if I looked okay. Being the friend that she is, she just said “You are totally fine.” Hahaha

FIVE INSTAGRAM WORTHY SPOTS IN BORACAY

Hey there! How's summer treating you so far? As for me, I have been travelling quite a lot lately. Thus, this late post. (wink) Anyway, last year I went to Boracay with two of my best friends since high school. It was my first time to the island paradise. I did not set any expectations at all because I did not want to be disappointed. People were telling me that going to Boracay would just be a waste of time and money. That I should rather travel to other hidden island treasures in the country instead. After all, the Philippines has more than 7000 islands.

KAYU KITCHEN + BAR IS PASSION ON THE PLATE

CEBU-MENS-FASHION-BLOGGER-ALMOSTABLOGGER-KAYU.jpg

“KAYU” is from the Visayan term “kalayu” which means fire. For Chef Francis Sy, KAYU Kitchen + Bar executive chef, fire means passion. And his passion is cooking fusion cuisines and entertaining people through his love for food. Thus, the creation of Cebu’s newest fine dining destination
KAYU Kitchen + Bar.

IT IS AN AFFAIR - CEBU MARRIOTT HOTEL X ALMOST a BLOGGER

almostablogger-marriott.jpg

I have something special for you. No cheating. Hahaha
But before the reveal, I have a question. Who doesn’t like “all you can eat” buffets? Especially in a luxury hotel in Cebu? Hmmm Aside from fashion and travel, food is also one of my weaknesses. For every one who knows me personally, they will tell you that my appetite is good for two to three people. Yes, believe it or not. I have a huge appetite. And since I love my readers and followers, I have teamed up with Cebu Marriott Hotel’s the Garden Cafe to give you the best dining experience at a very affordable rate.

UNWIND RELAX EXPERIENCE LACIAVILLE RESORT AND HOTEL

cebu-male-fashion-blogger-almostablogger-laciaville-resort.jpg

My friends and I were invited for a staycation in Laciaville Resort and Hotel in Mactan Island, Cebu last weekend. I was on a morning shift that day so I was pretty much excited to relax and to unwind with my friends after my shift. We met at Ayala Center where Laciaville Staff picked us up. Our first stop was in Greenwich Mabolo for some pizza while traveling to Mactan - because we all know that gridlock is very challenging going to Mactan. (wink) But to my surprise, traffic was actually moving well that day. It was already past 5PM.
