Hey guys! This is the second food post from my recent trip to Tagbilaran, Bohol. Persona Mesa is an all Asian-inspired restaurant with a modern Filipino twist located in J.A. Clarin Avenue Cogon District Tagbilaran City which was conveniently just a stone’s throw away from our hotel.

It was already around 6:30 PM when we got back to Tagbilaran from our trip to the Coral Garden in Loon. It was scorching hot that afternoon that it almost drained all of our energy. ( Stay tuned for a different blogpost about our misadventures at the Coral Garden.) So, we were definitely looking forward to another hearty food moment for dinner. I was actually trying not to eat much because we already planned on going to Panglao Island the next day. Hahaha But there I was again, giving in to perfectly plated food. It made me realize when will I be able to control my relationship with food? I think never! (wink)

Anyway, let’s get into the most exciting part. The food!

PINEAPPLE CUCUMBER COOLER
I already planned on getting a very cold and refreshing drink after a very hot day in Loon. So this drink was the answer to my prayers. Pineapple is one of my favorite fruits and I love cucumber in my beverages.

SEAFOOD FRIED RICE
Rice with a good amount of different seafood.
I loved how much seafood was on the platter. I believe I ate more seafood than fried rice. Hahaha Still pretending to be on a diet!

VEGAN VEGETABLE & TOFU CURRY
Mixed vegetables and tofu cooked in yellow curry.
I have only tasted Tofu probably only once in my life. Hahaha But I was up for trying it in Bohol since Naomi wanted me to try it. My feelings about tofu hasn't changed at all! But the good part was the curry was delicious.

PORK BINAGOONGAN with FRIED TALONG.
Pork belly sautéed in shrimp paste with a side of eggplants.
This was my favorite! It ultimately made my night. The pork was so tender it melted in my mouth.

SEAFOOD PASTA
Tomato based sauce with prawns and squid rings.
I am a red sauce pasta kind of guy so I gave it a two-thumbs up! The prawns and the squid rings were also perfectly cooked.

We wanted to have some desserts but we were already very full. Well, that should be one of the reasons why we should go back to Persona Mesa in Tagbilaran, Bohol if ever we decide to get away from the ruckus of Cebu City. I also want to point out that the staff were very accommodating and the food was served on time. So, if you want to eat some Filipino/Asian food when you're in Bohol, check out Persona Mesa Restaurant.
