Hey Guys! We are already half way this very fashionable year but it seems like 2016’s top trend the seventies is here to stay. The trick to pulling off this style is to wear pieces that are inspired by that fashion era. Remember, it has to be “inspired”! Unlike women, for menswear, stay away from the bell bottoms. But if you are the experimental type, why not.

The best way to go is to wear a printed polo in neutral colors in soft fabrics. Especially since we live in a tropical country where it’s literally summer all year long, choose fabrics that are soft and light. Recently, I attended a friend’s wedding in Cebu which was vintage-themed. I originally had a different look in mind but since I went to the gym in the morning I did not realise that it was still in the laundry. I had to think fast since the wedding was in 2 hours. Being the fashion blogger that I am, it pays to have a closet that is full of options. Humility aside, when it comes to fashion, I am confident that I can always pull off a look even in a rush.

I intentionally paired the top with a high waisted cropped pants which is this year’s every gentleman’s must have. As I mentioned, fashion plays a lot with history. Style Bloggers and Social Media Influencers use history in developing their style. It’s also no surprise that fashion designers use historical inspirations in developing their collections from season to season. Based on this knowledge, one style tip is to mix history with what is relevant now. In this case, my printed top which is inspired by the 70’s complements this high-waisted cropped pants which is on trend right now. I could have gone with white sneakers to make it more modern but since it was a wedding that I attended, I wore something formal and went for a pair of brown Oxford dress shoes.

So guys, if you have a printed polo inside your closet, you are lucky! This style is here to stay! Don’t be afraid to wear prints. As long as you pair it with something in solid colors. Well, a pair of black trousers won’t let you down.
