Aloguinsan, Cebu Philippines - I don't necessarily have the luxury to travel all the time. So when I heard about Bojo River tagged as the mini Palawan of Cebu, I grabbed the opportunity to experience its Palawan-esque beauty through a 90-minute river cruise.
It was a sunny Sunday morning when my friends from Cebu Bloggers Society and I went to Aloguinsan, Cebu for a much needed breather. The week has been very busy for all of us that we decided to go somewhere south. We rode a bus at 5 AM and arrived at the Aloguinsan Tourism Office at 7 AM. We had our breakfast at the Public Market then went back to the FarmHouse and paid for the Bojo River Cruise and Hermit's Cove.
The lush greens of the mangroves, the clarity of the water and the rich flora and fauna of Bojo River seemingly mimicked the best of Palawan. Now, you don't have to spend much to get a glimpse of what the best island in the world (Palawan) has to offer. At the end of the river lies Tañon Strait. You can see the island of Negros with the magnificent view of Mt. Kanlaon. You can also see colorful corals below your bangka if you're afraid to snorkel.
HOW TO GO TO BOJO RIVER
1. From Cebu South Bus Terminal, take a bus going to Aloguinsan Cebu.
Fare is roughly about PHP 80.00
2. Tell the Bus Conductor to drop you at Aloguinsan Tourism Office or The FarmHouse
3. Pay your River Cruise and Hermit's Cove adventure/entrance at The FarmHouse.
Bojo River Cruise - PHP 400 (1 hour and 30 minutes river cruise and swim.)
Hermit's Cove - PHP 100 as entrance fee (with cottage and free use of Comfort Room)
4. From The FarmHouse, take a motorcycle ride going to Bojo River for only PHP 20.00.
HERMIT'S COVE
From Bojo River, you can ride a habal-habal for Php 40.00 going to Hermit's Cove. If you are the backpacker type, they have a food resto at the receiving area where you can have some food and drinks before heading down the beach. :)
