Cebu prides itself with over a hundred waterfalls and cold springs from North to South of the island. But not everybody knows that Cebu also has a very well kept treasure in Montañeza, Malabuyoc - the Mainit Springs. I have been to Mainit Springs twice already this year. So I have enough reasons why you shouldn’t go and visit Malabuyoc’s hidden jewel.

WHY YOU SHOULDN’T GO TO MAINIT SPRINGS

1.    If you seek adventure, this isn’t the place for you. Mainit Springs is calming and relaxing. It will give you a sense of peace with nature. And maybe that’s not quite the adventure you are looking for.

2.   If you don’t want a 10-15 minute trek going to the spring because its too easy for you, then you shouldn’t go there.

3.   If you’re not into alternative medicine, this might not convince you. But locals believe that the warm water produced by the springs has therapeutic effects especially for your joints. It is also good for blood circulation. Well, there’s nothing to lose if you try it, right?

4.    If you don’t want to challenge your body to take a dip in a 42.6C of water, then Mainit Springs might be too hot for you to handle. But do you think your body can take the heat? Are you brave enough to take this challenge?

5.    If you want to spend much when you travel, Mainit Springs might be too affordable for you. I only had Php500 in my pocket when I first went there.

6.    Nature has her way of spoiling us. So if you don’t want four natural jacuzzis, then you shouldn’t go to Mainit Springs.

7.    Lastly, you shouldn’t go to Mainit Springs because it will leave you coming back for more.

Now, do you think Mainit Springs is too hot for you to handle? If yes, then you shouldn’t go there!

Aside from the hot springs, you may also enjoy their mini waterfall. Perfect for some photo session.
