Hello Cebu! Do you already have plans this weekend? Are you heading South of Cebu to marvel at the beauty of Oslob’s gentle giants? Or are you planning to sky dive in Northern Cebu’s Bantayan Island? Hmmmm I suggest you save yourself from long trips and enjoy a cool afternoon in Cebu’s version of Mount Olympus - The Temple of Leah and Tops Busay.
It was already past 2PM when I heard a familiar sound in full volume over my headboard. My alarm was ringing! I almost forgot that I am meeting my friends for a quick trip to the boondocks. I immediately took a bath and realized that I haven’t prepared something to wear. I usually prepare my things the night before I go on a trip. But since I wasn’t really ready, I just chose a plain white shirt, a pair of white denim shorts and of course a white pair of sneakers. Hahaha Since I am going to a Roman and Greek-Inspired Temple, why not wear white! right? One style hack men’s fashion bloggers know is to choose a brown leather belt to break the monotony of an all white ensemble - keeping it classy with neutrals. :)
And so I met my friends in JY Square Mall since they were having lunch in McDonald’s. After a late lunch, we went to SSY Business Center just across JY where van services GoToTops is waiting for us. For years, the easiest public transport going to Tops Busay was riding a motorcycle locally known as “habal-habal”. This mode of transportation may be the fastest way to go to Busay but it is not the safest. The good thing is, Paul Go had an idea to offer van transfers for local and foreign tourists who would like to go Tops and the Temple of Leah without the stress of overcharging "habal-habal" drivers.
We first went to the Temple of Leah since we planned to go to Tops during sundown. We explored the Temple for roughly about 45 minutes. I was left in awe to see these high pillars overlooking the city that I love. It was definitely a temple for the Gods. But this was no Mount Olympus. The Temple of Leah was built by Teodorico Adarna as a symbol for his undying love to his beautiful wife Leah Villa Albino-Adarna. After exploring the temple, we went to Tops Busay. The feeling was quite different from the Top. It was just nature and the city meeting together.
We stayed in 7th Heaven Sky Lounge for some food and drinks. Miss Sepfry of 7th Heaven was kind enough to satiate our hungry bellies. Hahaha She offered us snacks and dinner. The buffallo wings were definitely my favorite. We also tried making our own smores. It was definitely something new everyone should try when in Tops Busay. So the next time you feel the urge to get away from the city without traveling too far, book with GoToTops Van Services, go to Temple of Leah or to Tops Busay and chill and dine at 7th Heaven Sky Lounge. Guys, going to the boondocks has never been this comfortable and easy. So take advantage of it!
